Manchester United have completed the signing of Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo for an initial fee of £65 million, with a potential £6 million in add-ons. The 25-year-old Cameroon international has agreed to a five-year contract with the option of a further year.
Mbeumo becomes United’s third signing under manager Ruben Amorim, following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and left-back Diego Leon. His move ends a drawn-out transfer saga, which began seven weeks ago when United submitted their first bid.
The winger expressed his delight at joining the club, saying: “As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore growing up.”
Mbeumo is expected to join the squad for their pre-season tour of the United States later this week.
During his time at Brentford, Mbeumo made 242 appearances, scoring 70 goals and providing 51 assists. He enjoyed his best-ever Premier League campaign last season, netting 20 goals and delivering seven assists.
The deal marks Brentford’s record sale, surpassing the £40 million transfer of Ivan Toney to Al-Ahli in August 2024.
