Leeds United have confirmed the signing of German midfielder Anton Stach from TSG Hoffenheim, subject to international clearance and a work permit. The 26-year-old has signed a four-year deal at Elland Road, becoming the club’s sixth signing of the summer as they prepare for a return to the Premier League.

Stach brings significant experience from the Bundesliga, having played top-flight football with Mainz 05 and Hoffenheim, as well as securing promotion from the 2. Bundesliga with Greuther Fürth. Known for his physical presence at 6’4″, he has made over 250 career appearances, featuring in both midfield and defensive roles.

A senior international with two caps for Germany, Stach previously starred in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship final in 2021, helping his side to a 1-0 victory over Portugal. He played alongside current Leeds teammate Lukas Nmecha during that campaign.

Stach also adds a goal-scoring threat from midfield, with 26 career goals to his name. Last season, he featured in six Europa League matches for Hoffenheim, scoring against eventual champions Tottenham Hotspur.

Leeds now have a very experienced midfield, will that be enough to help them beat the drop?
