Liverpool have officially confirmed the signing of French forward Hugo Ekitike from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, pending international clearance.
The 23-year-old attacker has successfully undergone a medical and agreed personal terms with the club. He is now set to link up with his new teammates later this week as the Reds continue their pre-season tour of Asia in Hong Kong.
Ekitike arrives at Anfield following an impressive spell in Germany, where he scored 26 goals in 64 appearances across all competitions for Frankfurt. His standout performances earned him a place in the Bundesliga Team of the Season for 2024–25.
Before his move to Germany, Ekitike featured for Paris Saint-Germain after beginning his professional career at Stade de Reims. At PSG, he made 33 appearances and was part of the squad that won the Ligue 1 title.
Known for his composure in front of goal, intelligent movement, and versatility across the front line, Ekitike is expected to add further firepower to Arne Slot’s evolving Liverpool side. He becomes the latest addition to a busy summer window that has already seen the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Florian Wirtz.
Ekitike’s squad number will be announced in due course.
The signing reflects Liverpool’s intent to strengthen their attacking depth as they prepare for the 2025–26 campaign, with high expectations following a transitional year under new management.
