Reading FC have snapped up Canadian international Liam Fraser on a free transfer after his contract with Crawley Town expired — and Royals fans are already buzzing.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who joined Crawley in the January 2025 transfer window, quickly became a standout performer at Broadfield Stadium. His calm presence, sharp passing, and relentless engine made him an instant fan favourite.
But with Crawley unable to strike a new deal, Fraser has now packed his bags and made the move to Berkshire.
Reading manager Noel Hunt was full of praise for his newest signing:
> “Liam brings a lot of quality and maturity to our group. He’s played internationally, he’s experienced different styles of football in MLS and Europe, and he’s shown real professionalism during a tough spell at Crawley.
He’s calm in possession, sees the game clearly, and has great energy levels. We’re really happy to welcome him to Reading.”
With experience in MLS, Europe, and on the international stage with Canada, Fraser adds a composed, battle-tested presence to Reading’s midfield. Fans will be eager to see if his cool-headed playmaking can spark a Royals revival this season.
