Morgan Gibbs-White has pledged his future to Nottingham Forest, signing a new contract that keeps him at the City Ground until 2028—brushing off serious interest from Tottenham Hotspur and stirring up plenty of excitement among Reds fans.
The 25-year-old midfield maestro was the subject of a £60 million bid from Spurs earlier this summer, sparking a whirlwind of transfer drama and even talk of legal action over an alleged breach of confidentiality in his contract.
But Forest have come out swinging, locking down one of their star performers and sending a clear message: they’re building something big—and Gibbs-White is at the heart of it.
“Forest Feels Like Home”
Speaking to the club’s website, Gibbs-White made it clear he’s all in:
“I’ve felt at home at Forest from the moment I arrived. The support from the fans, my teammates, and everyone around the club has been unbelievable.”
“I believe in what we’re building here – and with the backing of Mr Marinakis and the enormous ambition he has, I want to be part of making something special. I’m excited for what’s to come.”
And why wouldn’t he be? With 18 goals and 28 assists in 118 appearances, Gibbs-White has been central to Forest’s rise, helping the club secure a seventh-place finish last season—and a ticket to the Europa League.
Spurs Who? Marinakis Makes a Statement
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis had his say too, firing off a strong message to rival clubs:
“Morgan is a special player – not just in terms of talent, but character and mentality. He represents everything we want this football club to be: he is a winner, talented, ambitious, fearless, and proud.”
“There was significant interest from various clubs, but we were determined to build our future with Morgan at the heart of it.”
Marinakis added that the move reflects his long-term vision for Forest:
“I promised our fans we would not only compete, but grow stronger every season. Today is another big step in that journey.”
Forest’s Future Looks Red Hot
With European nights on the horizon and one of England’s most dynamic midfielders tied down, Forest are sending a message: the revolution isn’t just coming—it’s already here.
