Matchday Fever

The National League’s Compliance and Licensing Committee got back to business this afternoon—and Morecambe Football Club was once again the hot topic on the agenda.

With serious questions still swirling around the Shrimps’ ability to meet financial obligations for the 2025/26 season, the Committee decided it was time to take action.

Effective immediately, Morecambe FC’s National League membership has been suspended.

But that’s not all:

The Club remains under a strict player registration embargo.

Morecambe has been booted out of the 2025/26 National League Cup.

A final decision on their league status will be made at the next Committee meeting on Wednesday, August 20.

The clock is ticking for Morecambe FC. Can they get their financial house in order before the next deadline? The National League—and their fans—will be watching closely.
