Matchday Fever

Everton have added a sprinkle of European flair to their squad by signing teenage left-back Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich – and he’s arriving with some serious buzz.

The 19-year-old Moroccan international, who can moonlight as a left-winger, has signed a four-year deal until June 2029. The Toffees are believed to have shelled out €9 million (£7.9m) upfront, with a potential €3m (£2.6m) in add-ons if things go to plan.

Aznou is David Moyes’s fourth summer signing, joining the new boys’ club alongside Carlos Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, and Mark Travers. Moyes is clearly shopping for the future – and possibly writing a new Netflix teen drama in the process.

“I’m so happy to be here. I’m so proud to be part of this team,” Aznou told evertontv, clearly already eyeing the Gwladys Street End. “The project they gave me is really good. The Premier League is the best league in the world, so I’m really excited to start.”

The teen talent was instantly charmed by Goodison 2.0, adding:

“The stadium is really nice. It gives you a good feeling… It’s perfect for us.”

And it didn’t take much sweet-talking from Moyes either:

“He gave me confidence, so I decided to sign.”

Moyes on the Move: “Left-backs are hard to find – we found one!”

Everton boss David Moyes was all smiles after landing his man:

“We are pleased to bring Adam to Everton. He’s a young talented player with a lot of potential. Left-backs are not easy to get.”

With Ashley Young leaving earlier this summer and Vitaliy Mykolenko currently holding down the fort, Aznou’s arrival injects pace, versatility, and some serious La Masia DNA into the left flank.

Who Exactly Is Adam Aznou?

Born in Barcelona, capped three times by Morocco, and raised on tiki-taka dreams at La Masia, Aznou has a footballing CV that reads like a world tour. He switched Barça for Bavaria in 2022, progressing through Bayern’s youth sides before making 18 appearances for their second team.

His Champions League debut came in December 2024 during a 5-1 thumping of Shakhtar Donetsk, and he even featured in Bayern’s 10-0 demolition job over Auckland City at the FIFA Club World Cup. Casual.

Aznou also impressed on loan at Real Valladolid last season, playing 13 times in La Liga – and now he’s landed in Merseyside with a point to prove and a flank to fly down.
