Derby County have rekindled a familiar midfield flame, bringing back Crystal Palace youngster David Ozoh on a season-long loan — and the 20-year-old says he’s got “unfinished business” at Pride Park.
Ozoh’s first spell with the Rams was disrupted by injury, limiting him to just 10 Championship appearances last season. But when he did play, he turned heads. According to the club, he “certainly caught the eye with some impressive performances.”
Now fit and fired up, the former England U18 international is ready for take two.
“I’m excited to be back,” Ozoh told the club website. “It felt like I had unfinished business.”
Back From Palace, Hungry for More
Born in Valencia, Spain, Ozoh made waves early at Crystal Palace, becoming the youngest player in club history to appear in a Premier League match when he came off the bench against Newcastle in 2023 — aged just 17 years, 8 months, and 15 days.
Fast-forward to now: he’s got more experience, more muscle, and a point to prove after recovering from last season’s setbacks. He’s also featured in Palace’s pre-season this summer, but his last competitive outing for the Eagles came back in April 2024.
Rams Rolling with Youth and Grit
With Derby gearing up for another promotion push, Ozoh’s return adds a familiar face with Premier League pedigree, youthful energy, and a bit of unfinished business to settle.
Keep an eye on the midfield — Ozoh’s back, and this time, he’s staying healthy and aiming high.
