Matchday Fever

Everton’s summer transfer window is heating up — and not without a bit of frustration. The Toffees have seen a £27 million bid for Southampton’s teenage sensation Tyler Dibling rejected, but the Merseyside club isn’t giving up just yet.

The 19-year-old winger, who bagged 2 goals in 33 Premier League appearances for the relegated Saints last season, remains a top target for Everton. The England U21 international also turned heads in January with a clinical FA Cup brace against Swansea City, further boosting his stock among Premier League scouts.

Despite the initial rejection, Everton are expected to come back with an improved offer as they look to inject fresh attacking talent into a squad that’s been seriously trimmed down this summer.

Manager David Moyes (yes, he’s back in blue!) has admitted the club is “running out of time” to make new signings — and fans are starting to feel the heat. So far, Everton’s arrivals include Bayern Munich left-back Adam Aznou and reserve goalkeeper Mark Travers, but the exits list is far more eye-catching: five seasoned first-teamers have departed, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucouré.

To make matters worse, Everton also missed out on Fulham full-back Kenny Tete, who snubbed a move to Goodison Park to extend his stay at Craven Cottage.

With the clock ticking and targets slipping through their fingers, Everton’s next move in the Tyler Dibling transfer saga could make or break their summer.
