Matchday Fever

Ipswich Town have secured the signing of Jens Cajuste from Napoli in a deal worth up to €9.5 million. The agreement includes a €2 million loan fee and a €7.5 million buy clause that becomes mandatory if Ipswich secure promotion to the Premier League.

Should promotion be achieved, Cajuste will sign a permanent contract until June 2029, ending his time at Napoli.

Successful Loan Spell at Portman Road

The 24-year-old Swedish midfielder spent last season on loan at Portman Road, where he impressed both fans and manager Kieran McKenna with his performances and work rate. Cajuste openly expressed his admiration for the club and the manager during an interview with the East Anglian Daily Times after his loan spell.

> “It’s a fantastic group, a great group of guys. I felt it from day one — there’s a very strong bond. Now there are a few more new additions, but the coach is doing well to integrate them. Everybody’s buying into the culture of what it’s like here,” Cajuste said.

He went on to praise Kieran McKenna, calling him “a special manager” with “a great football mind”. Cajuste also credited McKenna for pushing him to maintain high intensity throughout matches.

> “The number one thing that Kieran has pushed me on is intensity — keeping that intensity for 90 minutes is the ultimate goal,” he added.

Feeling at Home in Suffolk

Cajuste also shared that living in Suffolk suits his laid-back personality perfectly:

> “I’m pretty relaxed, pretty laid back, so I think it suits me like a hand in the glove. I think it’s perfect for me.”

With Cajuste now back at Ipswich Town, fans will be eager to see if he can help the club push for Premier League promotion and make his stay a permanent one.
