John Eustace is strengthening the Rams drastically.
Derby County are reportedly on the verge of completing the loan signing of former Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark from RB Salzburg.
The 20-year-old is said to be undergoing a medical today, with the move likely to be a season-long loan. This deal would represent the Rams’ ninth signing of the summer under John Eustace, as the club continues its significant squad overhaul.
Clark, who moved to Salzburg last season following his time at Liverpool, made 23 appearances in Austria’s top flight, contributing one goal and gaining valuable experience, including Champions League football. Despite interest from Scottish sides and other European clubs, Derby look set to win the race for his signature.
The Rams’ pursuit of Clark dates back to September 2023, when Paul Warne was still in charge. Although he remained at Liverpool then – even winning the Carabao Cup in Jurgen Klopp’s final season – he was sold to Salzburg shortly after.
Clark, the son of former Newcastle midfielder Lee Clark, has previously expressed interest in returning to the UK. He made 11 senior appearances for Liverpool and scored in their emphatic 6-1 Europa League win over Sparta Prague.
