Everton have confirmed the permanent signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee, with the midfielder putting pen to paper on a five-year contract that runs until June 2030.

The 26-year-old becomes the Toffees’ fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, and Adam Aznou. Dewsbury-Hall brings both energy and experience to David Moyes’ midfield as Everton continue to strengthen ahead of the new Premier League season.

A product of Leicester City’s academy, Dewsbury-Hall earned plaudits during loan spells with Blackpool and Luton Town, before becoming a fan favourite at the King Power Stadium. He moved to Chelsea in July 2024 and went on to make 36 appearances in all competitions last season, featuring in every match of the club’s UEFA Europa Conference League winning campaign, contributing four goals and three assists.

The midfielder also played a role in Enzo Maresca’s Spain side that lifted the FIFA World Cup in the USA this summer, further enhancing his growing reputation on the international stage.

Speaking to evertontv after completing his move, Dewsbury-Hall expressed his excitement at joining the Merseyside club.

“I’m so, so excited to get started. Just sitting here in the stadium, it’s unbelievable.

It feels right for me. That alone gives me the motivation and the extra determination to show everybody, to prove a point and have a really successful time here.”

He added:

“Everton’s one of the biggest clubs in the country, and I think that in the next couple of years, the future is going to be bright.

You look at the stadium – it’s incredible. I’ve played in all of the Premier League grounds, and this is one of the most impressive. The fan base is also one of the most passionate in the country.”

Dewsbury-Hall was instrumental in Leicester City’s promotion-winning campaign in 2023/24, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists in 44 Championship appearances. His performances earned him Leicester’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards, along with a place in the EFL Championship Team of the Season.

Discussing his decision to make the move to Goodison Park, Dewsbury-Hall cited a compelling conversation with manager David Moyes.

“For me to leave my old club, it had to be for something special — a project I truly believed in. After speaking to the manager and understanding his ambitions with the new stadium and beyond, it felt like the right club for the next step.”

“[Moyes] said he’s admired me for a while and explained how I would fit into his system. That’s exactly what you want to hear from a manager.”

Moyes was equally pleased to secure his target:

“We are pleased that Kiernan has chosen to join Everton. He had other clubs interested in signing him but was excited by the opportunity here.

Kiernan’s quality and experience in the Premier League give us hope that he can adapt quickly. We look forward to working with him, and I’m sure all Evertonians will give him the support he needs.”

Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival marks another signal of intent from Everton as they look to build momentum under Moyes and challenge further up the table in the coming season.
