Atletico Madrid have confirmed the signing of Napoli forward Giacomo Raspadori in a deal worth €22 million plus €4 million in add-ons, making him the club’s ninth arrival of a busy summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old Italy international, capped 40 times by his country, has signed for Diego Simeone’s side after personal terms and a transfer fee were agreed earlier this week. Raspadori has already arrived in Madrid and is expected to be available for Atleti’s La Liga opener against Espanyol next weekend.
He joins a long list of summer arrivals at the RiyadhAir Metropolitano, including Clément Lenglet, Juan Musso, Matteo Ruggeri, Álex Baena, Johnny Cardoso, Thiago Almada, Marc Pubill, and David Hancko. The signing of Raspadori addresses Simeone’s final target area — bolstering his forward options — following the departure of Ángel Correa to Tigres in Mexico.
Raspadori will compete for a place up front with Julián Álvarez, Antoine Griezmann, and Alexander Sørloth in Simeone’s preferred 4-4-2 formation.
With nine new faces through the door, Atletico Madrid have significantly strengthened their squad and will be under pressure to challenge Barcelona and Real Madrid for the La Liga title and make a deep run in Europe during the 2025/26 season.
