Stevenage have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of striker Jovan Malcolm from National League side Gateshead for what the club describe as a five-figure transfer fee.
The 22-year-old forward has signed a two-year contract at the Lamex Stadium, with the option of a further 12 months.
Malcolm began his career at West Bromwich Albion, where he scored twice in four senior appearances — both goals coming in the FA Cup. He also gained experience during loan spells with Accrington Stanley, Solihull Moors, and Cheltenham Town before making a permanent move to Gateshead in September 2024.
Last season, Malcolm netted nine goals in 38 appearances for Gateshead, impressing with his pace and finishing ability.
His arrival comes as Stevenage enjoy a strong start to the new campaign, having recorded back-to-back victories over Blackpool and Rotherham United. The club will look to continue their winning momentum when they travel to Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.
