Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with Manchester City over a potential deal for Brazil winger Savinho, with discussions between the two clubs taking place in recent days.

The 21-year-old attacker, who enjoyed a breakthrough season at the Etihad, is attracting serious interest from Spurs as head coach Thomas Frank looks to strengthen his attacking options. However, negotiations are still in the early stages, and it is unclear whether City will be willing to sanction the move.

According to BBC Sport sources, Manchester City are not actively looking to sell Savinho. The Premier League champions are believed to value the Brazilian at more than £50 million, a figure that would represent a significant profit on the £30.8 million they paid French side Troyes just a year ago.

Savinho made 48 appearances across all competitions last season under Pep Guardiola, scoring three goals. Despite his regular involvement, his minutes could be reduced this year following the club’s £30 million signing of French winger Rayan Cherki from Lyon.

For Tottenham, the move comes after a busy summer in the transfer market. The club has already signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55 million but failed in a £60 million bid for Nottingham Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White. Spurs’ attacking rebuild was accelerated after Son Heung-min was sold to MLS side LAFC last week.

Their need for reinforcements has further increased following the devastating injury to James Maddison. The England international suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear during a pre-season friendly against Newcastle United in Seoul earlier this month and is expected to miss most of the upcoming season.
