Matchday Fever

Blackburn Rovers have strengthened their squad with the signing of Japan international Ryoya Morishita from Polish side Legia Warsaw.

The 28-year-old versatile winger and full-back has agreed a three-year contract with the option of a further year, becoming Rovers’ latest addition ahead of the new Championship season.

Morishita’s Career Journey

Morishita began his professional career in Japan with Sagan Tosu before spending three successful years at Nagoya Grampus.

In January 2024, he made the switch to Poland with Legia Warsaw, where he enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists.

His standout performance came in the Polish Cup final, where he delivered a goal and two assists to inspire Legia’s victory over Pogon Szczecin.

A Versatile Addition for Rovers

Capable of playing both in defence and attack on the flanks, Morishita offers Blackburn flexibility and experience as they aim to push up the Championship table this season.
