Matchday Fever

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed that midfielder Philip Billing has completed a permanent move to Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland.

The 29-year-old Denmark international returns to his homeland after spending five seasons on the south coast, where he became a key figure for the Cherries.

Billing’s Bournemouth Career

Billing joined Bournemouth from Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2019 and went on to make 201 appearances in all competitions, scoring 31 goals.

One of his most memorable contributions came in the 2021/22 Championship season, when he set up Kieffer Moore’s decisive winner against Nottingham Forest — a goal that secured Bournemouth’s promotion back to the Premier League.

End of an Era

Over the years, Billing established himself as a versatile and powerful midfielder, playing a crucial role in Bournemouth’s push for top-flight stability. His departure marks the end of a significant chapter for both the player and the club.

Returning Home

The move sees Billing return to Denmark, where he will now continue his career with FC Midtjylland, one of the Superliga’s top clubs. For the midfielder, it represents not only a return to familiar surroundings but also a fresh challenge as he enters the next stage of his career.
