Manchester United have officially secured the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko in a blockbuster deal worth £73.7 million.

The 22-year-old Slovenia international has penned a five-year contract, with United paying a guaranteed £66.3 million and the remaining fee structured through performance-related add-ons.

Sesko becomes Manchester United’s third major attacking signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £65m plus £6m in add-ons.

The highly sought-after forward was also on Newcastle United’s transfer radar, but he opted to join Ruben Amorim’s Old Trafford project instead.

> “The history of Manchester United is obviously very special, but what really excites me is the future,” Sesko told club media.
“When we discussed the project, it was clear everything is in place for this team to grow and compete for the biggest trophies again soon. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family environment here. It’s the perfect place to reach my maximum level and achieve my ambitions. I can’t wait to work with Ruben and connect with my teammates to achieve success together.”
